Ipswich Primary Schools Interschool Sport
During semester one this year HVSS participated in the Ipswich Primary Schools interschool sport competition.
We had 4 soccer teams (junior & senior boys and girls), 3 netball teams and junior and senior rugby league teams.
The season ran for 8 weeks and students caught a bus to play fixtures at various Ipswich venues . We also played a netball and Rugby league match with St Marys (Laidley) during the week of the Ipswich show holiday.
Both our Rugby League teams qualified for the ‘A’ division grand finals which was a fantastic achievement as we were playing schools much larger than our own. The Juniors drew with St Marys (Ipswich) and shared the premiership and our seniors narrowly lost to finish runners up.
Laidley Valley Athletics Trials
At the recent Laidley Valley Athletics trials our school team had 27 students selected to progress to the Lockyer District Trials . Out of the 6 relay events contested we won 4 and finished second in another.
District and Regional Team Selection Trials
This year HVSS have had students selected in the following teams.
Ipswich and District 10yr Rugby League team
