Teachers at Hatton Vale State School use a variety of assessment techniques to gather evidence of children's learning. The information gathered is used to extend learning, provide feedback and assist students to reach their full potential. Students are encouraged to reflect on and monitor their own progress to inform their learning goals.
Parents are considered partners in the education process and receive regular information about their child's achievements including:
twice-yearly student reports
reports that will rate student achievement, effort and behaviour using a five-point scale and include the number of days absent
access to parent-teacher interviews twice a year
NAPLAN reports for Years 3 and Year 5 students that presents information about the child's achievement against the state and against Australia
Other reports regarding individual programs such as Instrumental Music, Languages Reports, Indigenous Support Plans or other Individual Learning Plans.
